The Flock

The aim is to breed rams for the commercial farmer whether for finished, store or gimmer lamb production.

No females have been purchased for over 20 years and with only the occasional bought in lamb and the use of purchased frozen semen a high health status MVA flock has been realised.

Most ewes are programmed and with the use of AI are lambed the first week in January.

Any genetics introduced (frozen semen or purchased ram) are assessed where possible by visual appraisal and Signet Recorded data. This ensures positive trends for growth rate, muscularity and maternal ability whilst being mindful of lambing ease, lamb viability, worm resistance, etc.
